DaqFox

What DaqFox does today

One window for every amplifier on the bench, one button to capture, and the values land where your evaluation expects them. Everything on this page is in the current version.

Simulated valuesEvery value in the pictures is recreated.

Connect and watch

Every amplifier on the bench in one window, all read at the same time.

Several sources, one window

Every device gets its own column with connection, reading, statistics, trend and event log. + New source adds the next one, and the window widens to fit.

  • Each column runs on its own background thread: a slow RS232 device never holds up the others.
  • One shared CAPTURE button reads every selected column at the same moment. A specimen carried by three amplifiers is measured once, not three times.
  • A switch per column decides whether it takes part in the capture.

Several channels per amplifier

On an MGCplus rack you tick the slots to read. Each channel has its own signal, its own unit and its own cell in the packet.

  • Gross on one channel, net on the next: same round trip, same cost.
  • Slots that are not fitted are detected at connect and dropped.
  • The header tells you honestly how often each channel is read, for example 7.8 HZ × 4.

LIVE: one channel at the size of the window

For watching a value settle. Minimum, maximum and mean describe a rolling window you set per channel, from 1 to 600 seconds.

  • Trend and statistics always describe the same stretch of time, from the same readings.
  • A single spike stays visible in the trend, even in a ten-minute window.
  • CAPTURE stays within reach above the tabs: you can capture while you watch.

Capture into Excel

One key press writes a packet into your own workbook, in the layout your template already has.

Continuous reading at a fixed interval

Switch on Continuous reading, set how often a packet is written, and choose how the run ends. Every packet is one row with all active channels; the next one lands below it.

  • Packets: after a set number, for example 600.
  • Time window: after a set time, for example 10 minutes.
  • Until stopped: until you press STOP.
  • With the timestamp switched on, every row shows when it was taken.

Values land where your sheet needs them

One press writes one packet. You decide whether it lies horizontally or vertically, where the next packet moves and how many blank cells stay in between.

  • Horizontal and down gives the usual log sheet: one row per capture, one column per channel.
  • The cell you click in Excel becomes the packet start. After writing, Excel's own cursor already sits on the next packet.
  • Switch sheet or workbook and DaqFox follows, and says so in its log.

Order by dragging

Your sheet has its own column layout. In the Capture order list you drag each channel to the place its value belongs. While you drag, the CELL column shows the addresses the drop will produce.

  • Sources left out of the capture stay greyed out in their place.
  • The timestamp is always the first cell of the packet.

Averaging that keeps the readings

With Average = N a capture writes the mean of the next N readings. It lands in the cell as a formula: Excel shows the number, the formula bar shows the readings behind it.

  • A sample interval spreads the N readings over a settling period, for example 20 readings 0.5 s apart.
  • A capture measures from the moment you press. Nothing collected before counts.
  • If a source stops part-way through, nothing is written for it, and the log says how many readings arrived.

Timestamps and hand-read values

The timestamp is a number with milliseconds. Subtract two rows and you have the interval, without converting text.

Manual input adds a value you read yourself to the packet, from a caliper or a gauge without an interface. The readings are taken first, then DaqFox asks for the hand value. Cancel drops the whole packet, so no row is written with a hole in it.

Day to day

Switching the language, and trying DaqFox without hardware.

English and German, no restart

The language switches at once, even while measuring. Every label, hint and error message is translated, and numbers use the decimal mark of the chosen language.

Try it without hardware

The Demo device family holds a simulated rack, a simulated Norbar TTT and a simulated GTM LT-Digitizer. Use them to get to know DaqFox, to train, and to demonstrate it before the real device is connected.

For the evaluation itself, your own amplifier is still best. Request evaluation
